Text-to-bid auction
Birdease has an online silent auction but players must navigate to a web page to bid. Redswing's auction runs entirely over SMS: players receive a text link, bid by replying, and get outbid notifications by text. No app, no browser, no QR code scanning required on the course.
Cost structure
Birdease charges a per-event fee or requires an annual subscription before you run a single event. Redswing has no upfront cost; it charges a percentage of what you raise, so the platform only makes money when your event does. For a charity that runs one event per year, Birdease's fixed cost comes straight off the cause.
Speed to live
Redswing's setup wizard gets you to a shareable registration page in under 10 minutes. Registration, scoring, auction, and sponsor tiers are configured in one flow. Birdease's more flexible form builder is powerful but takes longer to configure, which matters when volunteers are setting up the night before an event.
Post-event reporting
After your event closes, Redswing generates an AI-written board report covering total raised, auction highlights, registration breakdown, and donor summary, formatted for your charity's next board meeting. Birdease offers basic reporting but no AI-generated board narrative.
Pricing
Birdease charges per-event or annual subscription. Redswing has no upfront cost, roughly 3–5% of total dollars raised.
