How Stripe Connect works — where your money goes
Money from registrations, sponsors, donations, and auction wins goes straight to your charity's bank — Redswing never holds it.
How Stripe Connect works — where your money goes
Every dollar your event collects goes directly to your charity's own bank account. Redswing never holds or touches your funds.
Overview
Redswing is a technology platform, not a payment processor and not a middleman for your money. When you connect Stripe Connect, you link your charity's own Stripe account. Payments from players, sponsors, and donors are processed straight into that account, and Stripe pays it out to your bank on its normal schedule. Redswing only ever takes its platform fee on the relevant transactions — it is deducted automatically, never invoiced.
Where each dollar goes
- A player registers, a sponsor buys a package, someone donates, or an auction winner pays.
- The charge runs through your connected Stripe Connect account.
- The Redswing platform fee for that transaction type is deducted automatically (registration 3%, auction 5%, sponsors 5%, add-ons 5%, direct donations 0% — always free).
- The remainder settles in your Stripe balance.
- Stripe pays your balance out to your bank on its normal schedule.
When you get paid
Payouts follow Stripe's standard timing — usually about two business days after a charge, and sometimes up to seven days for a brand-new account while Stripe establishes a history. You can watch your Available and Pending balances in Dashboard → Payouts. Redswing does not control payout timing; that is between your charity and Stripe.
Things to know
- Redswing never holds your funds — there is no Redswing account your money sits in.
- The minimum event fee of $99 is waived once your event processes more than $5,000, and it is only ever evaluated after the event, never charged upfront.
- "Cover the fee" lets payers optionally add a small amount at checkout so your charity keeps 100% of the base payment.
- If a payout is delayed or your account shows a restriction, that is Stripe asking for verification — handle it from your Stripe dashboard.
