You can make a new person an admin without anyone sharing a sign-in. If nobody with admin access is left, Redswing support can help.
Overview
Your organization has members with a role: admin, editor, or viewer. An admin can invite people, change roles, and remove members. Sign-in is by an emailed link, so each person should use their own email.
If an admin is still around
- The current admin opens Dashboard → Team.
- Enter the new person's email, pick Admin, and send the invite.
- The new person opens the email, signs in, and accepts the invite.
- Once the new admin is in, the previous chair can be changed to Viewer or removed. An admin cannot remove themselves or lower their own role, so another admin does it.
If the previous chair left and nobody has admin access
- Open Ask AI or email hello@redswing.io from an address your organization uses.
- Be ready to show that you represent the organization, for example the organization name, the event name, and a board contact. Expect Redswing to ask for verification before it changes who controls an account.
- Do not ask the former chair to share their sign-in link.
Payment account and bank
The payment account belongs to your organization, not to a person. If the person who set it up leaves, update the details inside the payment processor's own screens, and have the new officer verified there. See Connecting a payment account.
Things to know
- Keep at least two admins, so one person leaving does not lock you out.
- Never accept a request to change your account or bank details from an unexpected email. See Keeping your account secure.
