Minors at your event

Redswing is intended for adults. What that means for players under 18, texts, and bidding.

Redswing's Terms say the platform is for people 18 or older. A player under 18 can take part in your event in person, but a parent or adult should handle the registration, texts, and bidding.

Overview

The Redswing Terms of Service say the platform is intended only for people 18 years of age or older. Your organization sets the rules for who may play, and for any waivers or permission forms your course or insurer needs.

What to do

  1. Ask your course and your insurer about junior players and any waiver you need.
  2. Have a parent or adult register the player and agree to texts. A text opt-in is the choice of the adult who owns the phone number.
  3. Minors should not place auction bids. An adult places the bid and pays.
  4. A substitute under 18 can play. Use the adult's phone for the scoring link, or paper. See Swapping or substituting a player.

Things to know

  • Redswing does not check ages.
  • For a player under 13, enter the parent's email and phone, not the child's. Laws about collecting children's personal information (such as the federal COPPA rule) are legal questions. Ask your attorney.
