You set a price per player. If your team size is 4 and the price is $150, a team pays $600. Individuals can register at the per-player price if you allow individual sign-ups.
You set the Registration price per player, Max players and Registration closes date in the event wizard, on the Registration step. To change any of them later, open Ask AI and say what to change. It shows a preview and asks you to confirm.
