The leaderboard is a web page. Any device with a modern browser and an internet connection can show it.
Overview
The page updates by itself. It listens for new scores and also checks every 10 seconds. Click TV mode on the page for a large, rotating display of standings, sponsors, the fundraising meter, and contest winners. The panels rotate about every 8 seconds.
Set up a TV
- The best setup is a laptop connected to the TV with an HDMI cable. Open the leaderboard from the Dashboard, using the Leaderboard link in the event menu.
- Click TV mode. Click again, labeled Exit TV mode, to leave it.
- Phones and tablets can also mirror to a TV (for example Chromecast or AirPlay). Smart TV browsers vary in quality. Redswing has not tested them. [unverified]
- Test on the day before, at the course, on the actual TV.
If the screen is blank or white
- Reload the page.
- Try another browser or a laptop. Older smart TV browsers often fail on modern pages.
- Check the address. It should be your event's leaderboard page.
If it shows the wrong event
Each event has its own address that ends in the event's name and /leaderboard. Open the leaderboard from the event you want and use that address.
If the Wi-Fi is bad
A phone hotspot works. The page needs a steady internet connection. A weak signal makes it update slowly. If the TV stops updating, reload the page. See also The leaderboard isn't updating.
Make the text bigger
There is no text size setting. TV mode already uses larger text. Zoom the browser (Ctrl and plus, or Command and plus) to enlarge it more.
Hide scores until awards
There is no timer to reveal scores. To keep scores private, open Settings, turn off Show leaderboard publicly, and set a Leaderboard access code. Share the code with only your committee. Turn the setting back on at awards. See Keeping the leaderboard private. Players can still see their own score on their scoring card. If you turn off Show player names on leaderboard (Settings), the board shows group numbers.
Show the leaderboard by flight
The leaderboard shows all teams together, or one board per course for multi-course events. There is no flight view. For flight awards, use the Pairings page to see which group is in which flight, then pick the best score in each flight from the leaderboard. Ranks are by total strokes, so compare teams that show the same Thru number.
Find a team's starting hole
Open Pairings. Each group card shows its starting hole (shotgun) or tee time. You can also print the Tee sheet from the Print menu. Self-check-in does not tell players their hole.
If the leaderboard shows an error for everyone
Open Ask AI right away. On event day it hands the issue to Redswing support. In the meantime, use paper scoring. See When phones or signal fail.
