Redswing shows scores. Your committee decides what they mean for awards and rulings.
Overview
Redswing ranks teams by score. Teams with the same score share a rank (for example 1, 1, 3). It does not break ties and it does not make rulings about rules, handicaps, or sandbagging.
Break a tie
Choose the rule before the event and print it on the scorecard or the event page. Common methods committees use are:
- A playoff hole or closest to the pin.
- Matching scorecards: compare the back nine, then the last six holes, last three, and last hole.
- A random draw, such as a coin flip or a card draw.
- Splitting the prize. These are common practice, not rules. Use what your committee agrees.
Handicap disputes
Handicaps are entered at registration. A player who says their handicap is wrong needs the committee's decision. If the committee agrees to a different number, ask Redswing support to change it by opening Ask AI. Decide a cap (for example a maximum handicap) before the event, not during awards.
Sandbagging or suspicious scores
Redswing cannot judge it. The committee reviews the cards and applies the rule on your event page. Keep the signed scorecards.
A score disputed after awards
- The committee reviews both cards and the leaderboard.
- If the score changes, see Fixing a wrong score.
- Announce the change and update the awards. Decide in advance how you handle a trophy already handed out.
Things to know
- Net and gross rankings depend on whether handicaps are turned on for the event.
- A clear, written rule is the best way to avoid an argument at awards.
