Two groups per hole (A and B shotgun starts)

How to place two groups on the same starting hole, and how to show A and B on your printed materials.

Redswing has no A/B label. You can still put two groups on the same hole.

Overview

For a shotgun start, Redswing gives each group a starting hole in order, and wraps around to hole 1 again when there are more groups than holes. So with 36 groups on 18 holes, groups 1 and 19 both start on hole 1. You can change any group's starting hole yourself.

Steps

  1. Open Dashboard → Events → [Event] → Pairings.
  2. On a group's card, use the starting hole dropdown to pick the hole. Two groups can have the same hole.
  3. Decide which group is A and which is B. Redswing does not store this. Use group numbers, for example "Group 5 is A, Group 23 is B".
  4. Print the Tee sheet and cart signs from the Print menu. They show group number and hole. Write A or B on them by hand, or note it on your own printed sheet.
  5. Tell marshals that the A group tees off first and B waits.

Things to know

  • The scoring card shows the group number, not A or B.
  • Do not generate pairings again after you set holes by hand. It erases your changes. See Undoing a pairings change.
