Flights: before the round, and awards by flight

How Redswing sets flights, why it cannot flight teams after the round by score, and how to give flight awards.

Redswing sets flights when it generates pairings, using handicaps. It does not re-sort teams into flights after the round.

Overview

Flights are groups of similar-skill teams. You choose the number of flights when you set up the event. When you click Generate pairings, Redswing orders players by handicap and splits groups into even blocks, one block per flight. You can move a group to another flight on the Pairings page, using the Flight dropdown on its card.

Awards by flight

  1. After scoring, open the leaderboard. It shows every team together, ranked by total strokes.
  2. Open Pairings, and use the flight tabs to see which groups are in each flight.
  3. For each flight, pick the best scores from the leaderboard.
  4. For flights decided after the round (for example top third by score), split the leaderboard list into thirds yourself. Redswing has no after-round flight feature.

Things to know

  • There is no flight view on the leaderboard today. See Leaderboard and TV troubleshooting.
  • Do not click Generate pairings again after scoring starts. It deletes groups and entered scores. See Undoing a pairings change.
  • Texts can be sent to one flight from Communications, using Specific flight.
