For sponsors and donors

Your donation receipt

What you get after you give, what it says, and how to get a tax letter from the charity.

After you give online you get a thank-you email from the organizer. A formal tax letter, if you need one, comes from the charity.

The organizer can change the wording of the thank-you email, so it may look different from event to event.

Tax letters

Organizers can download acknowledgment letters for donors from Redswing and send them. Each letter is built from what you paid. Whether and when they send letters is up to the organizer. If you need one for your taxes, ask them.

Gifts of $250 or more need a written acknowledgment from the charity. Keep your email and ask the organizer for a letter if you need one.

Gifts given by cash or check

If you gave cash or a check at the event, there's no automatic email. The organizer may record your gift and include it in their letters. Ask them.

Whether your gift is deductible

That depends on the charity's status and your own situation. Ask your tax advisor.

Still need help? Your tournament organizer can fix this. Reply to your confirmation email (replies go to the organizer), or ask at the check-in desk on the day.
