If your payout is late or shows failed, the cause is almost always between your payment processor and your bank. Here is what to check first.
Card payments are not open yet. Until they open, record checks and cash. See Connecting a payment account.
Overview
Redswing does not hold your funds and cannot release a payout. The processor decides when to pay out and can hold or fail a payout if it needs verification or the bank details are wrong.
What to check
- Open Payouts and click Open your payment account to see balances and payout history. Your payment provider pays your bank on its own schedule. Redswing does not control the timing.
- A pending or in transit payout is still on its way. Banks can take extra business days, and weekends and bank holidays do not count.
- A failed payout usually means the bank account details were rejected (wrong number, closed account, or name mismatch). Fix the bank details in the processor's own screens and the processor retries.
- If your payment provider asks for documents, send them. Payouts are often held until verification is done.
- If it has been well past the processor's stated timing and nothing is pending, contact the processor with the payout reference.
Things to know
- Standard timing, and any hold on a first payout, is set by your payment provider and shown in your payment account.
- Never change your bank details because someone emailed or called you asking you to. See Keeping your account secure.
- A treasurer who needs a record for the books can use the payment provider's own reports, opened from Payouts. See Reports and data export.
