Create and revoke an access token

Make a personal access token so an AI tool such as Claude or ChatGPT can work with your organization's events, and revoke it when you are done.

An access token lets another tool, such as Claude Desktop, act on your organization's Redswing data. Treat it like a password.

Who can do this: Admin or Editor.

Create a token

  1. Go to redswing.io/dashboard/connections. (The Connections page has no link in the sidebar yet; type the address.)
  2. Under Create an access token, give it a Name, such as "Claude Desktop".
  3. Under Permissions, keep only what the tool needs: Read events & data, Create & edit events, Manage auction, Read donor CRM, Read financials. Tap a permission to turn it off or on.
  4. Click Create token.
  5. Copy the token straight away. The page says "Copy this token now, it won't be shown again."

Revoke a token

Under Active tokens, click Revoke next to the token. The tool loses access at once.

Things to know

  • A token only reaches your own organization's data.
  • Revoke tokens you no longer use, and revoke one at once if it may have been shared.
