Everyone on your team has one of three roles. The person who creates the organization is an Admin.
The short version
- Admin: full access, plus managing the team and money settings.
- Editor: create and run events. Cannot manage the team or payment setup. Good for committee members.
- Viewer (read-only): sees dashboards and reports, changes nothing. Good for board members.
Side by side
| Task | Admin | Editor | Viewer |
|---|---|---|---|
| See every event page, report and list | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Create, edit, publish and duplicate events | Yes | Yes | No |
| Golfers, pairings, check-in, scoring, sponsors, donations, auction | Yes | Yes | No (look only) |
| Tax details on Tax receipts | Yes | Yes | No |
| Team: invite, change roles, remove, revoke invites | Yes | No | No |
| Send card refunds | Yes | No | No |
| Send your organization's details for the card payment check, connect Square | Yes | No | No |
| Turn letting golfers pay you directly on or off (Get paid) | Yes | No | No |
Viewers see "View-only access. You can look at dashboards and reports but not make changes." at the top of every page, and no New event button in the sidebar. If a Viewer tries to create an event anyway, they see "Your account has read-only access." Editors and Viewers do not see Team in the sidebar.
Rules to know
- An Admin cannot lower their own role or remove themselves. Another Admin does it. Keep at least two Admins so one person leaving never locks you out. See Hand over your account when a chair leaves.
- One account belongs to one organization at a time. Accepting an invite to another organization moves that account there.
- Golfers, sponsors and day-of volunteers need no account and no role. See What volunteers can and can't do.
Change someone's role
On Team, change the menu on their row under Members. It saves right away. See Change a role, remove someone, or revoke an invite.
