Plan about an hour. Work down the list and tick each box. Everything here is in your event's sidebar.
1. Golfers and money
- Open Golfers. Look for anyone who still shows money owed. Collect it now, or plan to collect it at the desk (the Check-in page shows Owes and a Mark paid button).
- Look at the waitlist on Golfers. If spots are open, add the next team with Add to field. See Fill a spot from the waitlist.
- On Golfers, tap Export CSV and save the file on your phone. Print one copy. If a page will not load in the morning, this is your check-in list.
- Get a cash box and a receipt book ready for golfers who pay at the desk.
2. Pairings
- Open Pairings. Check that every golfer is in a group, every group has a starting hole (shotgun) or tee time, and no group is short by mistake.
- Golfers still listed under Not in a group yet at the top of Pairings need a group. Use Add to group… on their row.
- Need to swap two golfers? Do it today. Once a group has entered a score, golfers in that group can no longer be moved or swapped.
- Do not make new pairings from scratch now. It replaces your hand edits. (Once any score is entered, Redswing blocks it so scores are never erased.)
3. Print
- On Pairings, tap Print and print Scorecards, the Tee sheet and Cart signs. Print a few spare scorecards for groups that end up on paper. See What to print and bring.
- Print or save each group's scoring QR code if you plan to put it on the carts. See Get a group's scoring link and QR code.
4. Scoring
- Open Scoring. Every group should have a card that says Not started.
- Open one golfer's link on your own phone (Scoring links, then Open) and check the hole count, the pars and the starting hole. Do not enter a score you do not want to keep. See Do a practice run.
- Decide how each group gets its link: a text, the group QR on the cart, or the link handed out at check-in. See Give every group its scoring link.
- Decide whether golfers may fix scores after they finish (Event settings, Allow score edits). See Scoring options.
5. Texts and email
- Remember that texts only reach golfers who agreed to texts. Plan to say everything important out loud too.
- Send the Pre-event reminder email if you have not yet (Messages, then Emails). See Email all your golfers.
6. Leaderboard and TV
- Open the leaderboard on the actual TV or laptop you will use and try TV mode. Check the Wi-Fi there, or bring a phone hotspot. See Put the leaderboard on a TV.
- Want the board private until awards? Set it up now. See Keep the leaderboard private.
7. Sponsors, contests and the auction
- Check sponsor logos and hole signs on Sponsors.
- Check your contests on Contests (hole numbers and prizes).
- Print auction bid sheets from Auction and decide who closes the auction and when.
8. Weather and safety
- Check the forecast. Read the course's weather policy and save the head professional's phone number.
- Decide who calls play, who sounds the horn and who announces. See Rain delays and shortened rounds and Lightning: suspending play.
9. Your team
- Confirm volunteer roles, holes and shifts on Volunteers, and send each volunteer the plan from your own phone. See Who does what on event day.
- Make sure at least two people can sign in to the dashboard on their phones, in case one phone dies.
10. Pack
Spare scorecards, pens, clipboards, tape, a phone charger and battery pack, a whiteboard or poster and markers for a paper leaderboard, the receipt book, the cash box and the printed golfer list.
