Several people scoring the same group

Two or more golfers can score one group at the same time; here is how their phones stay in step.

You do not need to pick one scorer per group. Every link for a group (the group QR, the group link and each golfer's own link) opens the same scorecard, and several people can score at once.

The short version

  • Everyone sees the same holes and numbers.
  • Each phone checks the group's saved scores about every 15 seconds while the screen is on, and right away when signal comes back.
  • When two phones enter different numbers for the same hole, the one entered last wins. The other phones switch to it and say so.

What golfers see

  • "Updated from another phone in your group: hole 7." Another phone saved a different number for that hole. The card now shows that number. Tap OK to clear the note.
  • "Hole 7 was already updated with a newer score, so we kept that one." This phone sent an older number (for example after being out of signal), and a newer one was already saved. The newest entry stands.

The hole a golfer is changing right now is never overwritten under their fingers. Holes still waiting to send from a phone keep that phone's number until they are sent.

Good practice

  • Agree in the group who scores. One main scorer and one backup works well.
  • Before Send final scores, have the group look at the card together.
  • If a number looks wrong, fix it on any phone. The fix reaches the others.

What you see as organizer

Nothing changes on Scoring: the group shows one card and one Thru count. The leaderboard shows one row for the team.

What Redswing does not do

  • It does not lock a group to one phone.
  • It does not tell you which phone entered a score.
