Two phones show different scores

Two golfers in a group see different numbers for the same hole. Which one counts and how to line them up.

Quick fix (try this first): reload the scorecard on both phones (with signal). Both then show what is saved. The saved number is what the leaderboard uses.

Why it happens

  • A phone has not checked yet. Phones check the group's saved scores about every 15 seconds, only while the screen is on and has signal.
  • A phone has holes waiting to send. It says Saved on this phone. Until those holes send, that phone keeps its own numbers.
  • Someone is on that hole right now. A phone never changes the hole a golfer is editing.

Which number counts

The one saved last. When a phone's older entry arrives after a newer one, it is set aside and the phone says "Hole 7 was already updated with a newer score, so we kept that one."

Line them up

  1. Make sure both phones have signal, and that neither shows Saved on this phone or Sending….
  2. Reload both cards.
  3. If the hole is still wrong, agree the right number and fix it on one phone only. See Fix a wrong score.

Still stuck?

Open Ask AI (the red button in your dashboard) and describe what you see. It can look at your event and hand the problem to a person at Redswing. If the dashboard will not load, email hello@redswing.io from any device. On event day, switch to the paper backup first so play never waits on a reply.
