The Basics step is the only step with required boxes. You need an event name, a course and a date. Everything else can wait.
Who can do this: anyone signed in to your organization. Time: about 3 minutes. You will need: your event name, the course name, the date.
Before you start
- Tap New event (the page is titled Create an event). If you see Set up with AI and Classic form, choose Classic form to follow these steps.
- Steps are in a bar at the top (Step 1 of 9). Your answers are saved on this device as you go, so you can leave and come back. See Pick up an unfinished event.
Steps
- Type the Event name, for example "Annual Charity Classic".
- Type the Charity name. It appears on your page and on receipts.
- Type the Course name. Then look under it: Search the course list shows matching courses. Tap Use this course on yours. This fills in the address, and card payments need it. See Find and link your course.
- Add the Course address (optional). Golfers see it for directions, and Redswing uses it to work out your time zone.
- Pick the Date and the Start time. The date cannot be in the past.
- Type your Fundraising goal in dollars. Leave it empty if you do not want one.
- Add a Description (a few sentences for your page) and, if you are signed in, a Cover photo. The photo is optional and you can add it after you publish.
- Tap Next.
Also on this step
- Playing on more than one course? Only for big tournaments. See Run an event on more than one course.
- Referred by a course? If a golf course gave you a code, type it. It never changes what you pay.
What happens next
You land on Format. Nothing is public until you publish.
Common problems
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Cannot add a cover photo | You are not signed in yet, or the file is too big or the wrong type | Skip it. Add it after publishing. See My logo or photo won't upload. |
| I cannot pick a date | Dates in the past are blocked | Pick a date from today on. |
| "Add the event name, course and date before you review and publish" | One of the three required boxes is empty | Go back to Basics and fill it. |
