Add a sponsor who paid by check or cash

Use Add sponsor when a business said yes by phone, email, or in person. You write them down, and they count in your totals, your report, the sponsor wall, and hole signs.

Who can do this: Admin or Editor Time: about 2 minutes You will need: the company name, the amount, and whether you have their check or cash

Before you start

• Redswing does not move this money. The sponsor pays you directly, and you record it.
• Redswing takes no fee on sponsorships.

Steps

1. Open Sponsors in the event sidebar.
2. Click Add sponsor.
3. Type the Sponsor name.
4. Pick a Package (optional). When you pick one, Amount ($) fills in with the package price. Change it if they agreed to a different amount. Choose "No package" for a custom deal.
5. Choose Payment:
   • Paid by check: you have the check.
   • Paid cash: you have the cash.
   • Not paid yet: they said yes but have not paid.
6. Optional: add the sponsor's Logo (optional). You can also add it later. See Add or change a sponsor logo.
7. Click Add sponsor at the bottom of the form. A "[Name] was added." message appears.

What happens next

• Paid by check or cash: the sponsor shows as Paid with the amount.
• Not paid yet: the sponsor shows as Pending and Owes $X, and the amount appears under "Payments you are waiting on" on Get paid. When the money arrives, click Mark paid. See Mark a sponsor paid.
• The sponsorship counts in your totals and on the fundraising meter once it is paid (partly paid sponsors count what you received so far).
• A hand-added sponsor does not use up one of the "N left" slots on a limited package until they are marked paid.
