Troubleshooting

A score won't save ("Saved on this phone")

What the save messages on the scorecard mean, and when a golfer needs to do anything.

Quick fix (try this first): keep scoring and keep the page open. Unsent holes send by themselves as soon as the phone gets signal. Tap Send now to try again straight away.

What each message means

MessageWhat it meansWhat to do
Saved on this phone. — will send when you have signal (3 holes). No signal. The holes are safe on this phone.Keep playing. Do not close the page or clear the browser. It sends by itself.
Sending… 2 holes left to send.Signal is back and the phone is sending.Wait a moment.
"Hole 7 could not be saved. Show this screen to the tournament organizer."Redswing refused that hole for good, usually because scores are locked or the link is no longer validOrganizer: see below.
"Hole 7 was already updated with a newer score, so we kept that one."Another phone saved a newer number for that holeCheck the hole. Fix it if the newer number is wrong.
"Your scorecard is saved on this phone. It will send as soon as you have signal." (after the last hole)The final holes are still waitingKeep the page open, or come back to it with signal.

Check these, in order (organizer)

  1. Signal. Walk to the clubhouse or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. The card sends on its own.
  2. "Could not be saved" on a finished card: Allow score edits may be off. Turn it on in Event settings, ask the golfer to tap the hole and Next hole again, then turn it off. See Scoring options.
  3. "Could not be saved" on an open card: the golfer may have been removed from the event or moved. Give them the group link from Scoring.
  4. Leaving the page: if the golfer tries to close the page with a hole not yet saved, the browser asks first. Tell them to stay.

Good to know

  • Unsent holes live on that one phone. Another phone in the group cannot send them. If that phone is lost or broken, enter those holes again on another phone.
  • A scorecard opens with no signal only if it was opened once with signal on that phone.

Still not working: the backup

Write the rest of the round on paper and enter it later from Scoring. See When phones or signal fail.

Still stuck?

Open Ask AI (the red button in your dashboard) and describe what you see. It can look at your event and hand the problem to a person at Redswing. If the dashboard will not load, email hello@redswing.io from any device. On event day, switch to the paper backup first so play never waits on a reply.
