Quick fix (try this first): open Get paid. If it doesn't say Your payment account is connected., card payments aren't set up yet. If it does, look for a yellow notice saying your event "can't take card payments yet".
What golfers might see
- Your price with "Reserve online, then pay the organizer directly", and a Reserve my spot button: cards are off, but golfers can still reserve and pay you.
- Registration opening soon: cards are off and paying you directly is off too.
- "Registration is paused for this event. Please contact the organizer." or "Card payments aren't turned on for this event. Please contact the organizer.": cards are stopped and golfers can't reserve either.
Check these, in order
- Get paid doesn't say connected. Finish the steps: Ask for card payments, then Connect your Square account.
- The event isn't linked to a course from the course list. Get paid (and the event's Overview) shows "This event can't take card payments yet" and "To take card payments, pick your course from the course list." Tap Pick your course, type part of the course name in Search the course list (in Event details), and tap Use this course next to the right one. It saves right away. If your course isn't in the list, open Ask AI.
- Get paid says Card payments are paused. Redswing pauses card payments to protect you and your golfers, for example when a chargeback is opened, when Redswing's access to your Square account is removed, or when there is unusual payment activity. Card payments are paused for your organization. Contact support to find out why. Open Ask AI; it hands this to a person.
- It worked, then stopped partway through a busy day. Until your organization's first event is complete, Redswing limits how many card payments, and how much money, it takes in a day. Golfers then see "Registration is paused for this event. Please contact the organizer." Open Ask AI and ask for the limit to be reviewed.
- Square has restricted your account. Sign in to Square and finish anything it asks for.
- It is a free event. No card payments are needed. Golfers see Complete free registration.
Still not working: the backup
Turn on Let golfers reserve a spot and pay you directly on Get paid (Admin), so golfers can reserve now and pay you. Take cash or checks, and add anyone who calls with Add golfer. See Run your event with cash, checks or your own link.
Why this happens
Card payments need four things at once: an approved organization, a connected Square account, an event linked to a course from the course list, and no pause or daily limit in the way.
