Quick fix (try this first): on Pairings, use Move player… to fill a short group from a bigger one.
Check these, in order
- Is Team size right? Open Event settings, Event details. If you changed it after making pairings, make the pairings again. See Set team size.
- Did teams sign up in odd numbers? Golfers who sign up together stay together. A team of 3 stays as a group of 3 even with a team size of 4. Singles and small teams are then packed together as evenly as possible, never over the team size. Ten singles in teams of 4 become 4, 3 and 3.
- Is a team bigger than the team size? Redswing cuts it into full groups and a leftover.
- Were golfers added after you made pairings? They are under Not in a group yet. See Put a golfer into a group.
- Are you sure which count is which? In the Move player… menu each group shows "(3 of 4)".
Fix it by hand
- Move: Move a golfer.
- Trade: Swap two golfers.
- Starting over is allowed only before any score is entered, and it erases your hand edits: Start over.
Still not working: the backup
Print the Tee sheet and cross out or write in changes by hand. Give the scoring marshals the changes.
Why this happens
Redswing keeps people who signed up together together, so groups can be uneven.
