Troubleshooting

I can't remove a golfer

What each message on the Remove panel means, and how to take the golfer off your event anyway.

Quick fix (try this first): read the red message on the Remove panel. It names the reason, and nothing was changed.

Check these, in order

  1. There is no Remove button. You have view-only access. Only an Admin or Editor can remove golfers. Ask an Admin on your team, or ask them to change your role on Team.
  2. "This golfer paid by card. Refund them on the Get paid page; that removes them." Card money goes back through Square, so the golfer is taken off by the refund, not by Remove. An Admin opens Get paid → Refund a payment, refunds the full amount, and the team leaves the list once Square confirms. See Refund a golfer or team that paid by card.
  3. "This golfer already has scores, so removing them would change the leaderboard. Leave them on the list." Someone in their group has entered at least one hole for them. Redswing will not delete scores. Leave them on the list. If they left mid-round, the group keeps playing. If you owe them money back, refund it on Get paid (a full card refund still takes them off).
  4. "This sign-up was already removed." Someone else on your team removed it. Refresh the page.
  5. You only want one golfer off a team. Remove works on the whole sign-up. Use Edit names to put a replacement in (Replace a golfer with someone else), or leave them on and don't check them in.
  6. "We could not record the money as given back: ... Nothing was removed." Saving the record of the cash or check failed. Try again in a minute.

Still not working: the backup

Leave the golfer on the list. Don't check them in, and tell the starter they are not playing. Nothing about scoring or the leaderboard needs them to be removed.

Why this happens

Remove never changes money that went through Square and never deletes scores. Those two rules keep card payments, refunds and the leaderboard accurate.

Still stuck?

Open Ask AI, the red button in your dashboard. It can look up the sign-up and hand the issue to a person.

Not set up yet?

Sign-ups, pairings, scoring, leaderboard and check-in are free. Golfers who pay online by card add a $5 booking fee inside their price (or you can cover it). 0% on sponsorships, auction, add-ons and donations.
