The Card payments box on Get paid shows one status. What golfers see on your event page depends on it, and on whether Let golfers reserve a spot and pay you directly is on.

Free events
A free event needs no card payments. Golfers sign up with Complete free registration whatever the status, as long as your organization is not suspended.
